Auto Hunting as a Clone Chapter 2

Chapter 2 – Awakening (2):

TL: Kyuie and Yuidren

PR: Swara

Teleporter, George Lucas.

An american S-Class Ranker in his late 30s, who is also the head of Enlighten Group.

His signature skill was his blink skill (instant teleportation), and was the first person to have conquered Odin’s Tower, which no one had ever succeeded in.

And that person was currently receiving a report in his office.

“To date, out of the 30 billion people, only 80% of them have been awakened.”

“I see. How long till 100% awakening?”

“Once we see trends in the participation of the Awakening Programs, it shall be within 5 years.”

“5 years…”

Lucas looked over the city from his office window

“There isn’t much time left.”

Until that day.

* * *

Sangwoo took the bus home and turned on his phone.

Beforehand, he had placed his phone away before entering the portal because electronic devices could break and stop working when crossing the portal.

When he glanced down at his phone, he saw countless messages crammed together.

-[kkd]: Yo, what skill did you get? I got 2 hunter skills.

-[kkd]: What is it?

-[kkd]: What did you get?

-[kkd]:Yo, answer me.

-[kkd]: Fuck.

-[kkd]: Sleeping?

-[kkd]: Thank you for your efforts…

The messages were filled with useless remarks and were sent by his close friend Kim Kyungdo.

Sangwoo replied half-heartedly.

-[sw]: Don’t know

The number 1 next to his message immediately disappeared. [TN: In Korea, they use Kakaotalk which is a messaging app. Whenever you send a message, there is a number beside it representing if the message has been read or not i.e. if it stays 1, it has not been read by the recipient.]

-[kkd]: Why? Did you get a bad skill?

-[kkd]: Answer quickly

-[kkd]: Uauauauauahhh~

-[sw]: Yes.

-[kkd]: kekkekekekekekekkeke congrats congrats~

-[kkd]: You probably got a skill like that by doing nothing and lazing around all day in your house

-[kkd]: I wanna go out and do activities outside…

‘Sigh, so noisy.’

He had been close friends with Kim Kyungdo since elementary school.

He was easygoing, lively, extroverted, and he got along well with pretty much anyone, but his drawback was that he was too noisy.

After talking and arguing with Kim Kyungdo for a while, he arrived home.

It was Sangwoo’s one room studio which was just over 8 pyeong. [TN: Pyeong is a unit of the size of rooms in Korea, 8 pyeong is roughly 26.44 square meters.]

The sound of opening his door sounded so heartwarming to Sangwoo.

Wueiii, iiiing-

“Are my children doing well~”

Inside the room, there were 2 computers running.

With an astounding 4 monitors.

Inside each monitor were 4 identical game programs, 16 in total.

The program moved the game characters automatically and hunted monsters.

It was fully automatic, from picking up and bringing items to the town, to putting them into a warehouse.

All Sangwoo had to do was turn on the macros for the 16 game characters.

15 were buccaneers (alts, sub characters), and 1 was his main.

For his main’s growth, 15 buccaneers were used for farming (collecting item materials, experience, etc.) and was a method to put money and items onto his main.

Because of this, it was able to grow at an overwhelming pace compared to users who only had one character.

Sitting in front of his computer, he earnestly monitored his game.

First, he checked the money and items in the main warehouse.

Money was always inside the warehouse, but the kind of items he would get were random.

However, he couldn’t see any rare materials or equipment today.

‘I was out of luck today as well, huh…”

There wasn’t much income.

He sold off the items, but the profits he gained fell short of his expectations.

So, Sangwoo collapsed onto his old mattress that he bought out instead of his bed.

It’s already been 2 years since he’s been making money through games.

When a game was at its prime, just farming all day in-game and selling the loot, would get him more money than the wages of a part-time job.

After finishing high school, as soon as he became 20, he became independent and that was attributed to the money he earned from selling game currencies and items.

However, the popularity of the game he used to play went down, which affected his income which declined as a result. He knew he couldn’t rely on unpredictable, changing incomes like selling rare time drops forever…

‘I need to pay for my tuition… should I find a different game? But it’s annoying to make more macros…’

Macro.

An automatic program that can make anything computer-based automatic.

In terms of replacing work that needed people, macros fit very well with Sangwoo’s tendencies.

Although Sangwoo liked playing the game, he wasn’t patient enough to endure the process of leveling and playing without assistance.

In the end, it was natural for Sangwoo to start using macros.

But, the belly button is bigger than the belly. TN: A korean idiom meaning the accessories are worth more than the product

This is because Sangwoo had to use various program languages to create macros.

Of course, there were positive results such as a typical high school student earning an income that was usually impossible, and his computer credentials helped him enter Seoul University.

Because of this, the earlier Sangwoo who only played games without going outside had parents who were very dissatisfied with him, but once Sangwoo started to become independent and earn an income, his parent’s views changed.

‘So, what should I do? This game isn’t enough anymore.’

Although nothing was eternal, the game market was very sensitive to changes in trend, so it was rare for a game to last long.

That waa why game trends often changed a lot, having one game become dead and another trendy. (like fortnite, apex legends, pubg, csgo, etc.)

In the end, users who also made money by playing games like Sangwoo had to move from game to game like migratory birds, according to the current trend, and this made Sangwoo very annoyed and weary because of the amount of time needed to make macros.

‘Do I have to find a normal stable job? Working sounds like a pain in the ass… If only reality had something like a macro that would do the work for you…’

At that moment Sangwoo remembered the skill he had just remembered.

“Clones!”

‘If the clones truly are what I think it is…’

He decided to at least test it out.

Sangwoo stood in his living room.

As if he was holding a grand sacrilegious ceremony, he spent a few minutes breathing in-and-out, then he used the cloning skill.

“Clone summoning.”

Meanwhile, as he was thinking about using his skill to summon a clone, he used all of his will power, and suddenly an unknown energy circulated and then exited from his body.

It was the energy which existed in all things, ‘Mana’.

The mana that left Sangwoo’s body, combined with the mana of all the other things in the room in order to start forming a body.

With a bright glow, the mana started to become visible to the naked eye.

The mana started to grow in size, and it formed a blurry form of a human.

Gradually as it became clearer the clone was revealed.

“That’s me?”

“175 cm tall, moderately fat body, large eyes, and even a round face.

It was exactly Jung Sangwoo’s body.

“Ah… ah.”

“…”

“…Am I a clone?”

“Yes.”

A slight lower toned voice.

It felt as if he was listening to a recording of himself.

This situation gave Sangwoo goosebumps, because a while back he had heard about a German superstition, which had just come to mind.

<If a person saw their own Doppelgänger they would die.>

The story said that if you saw a person with the same exact appearance as you, you would die.

Due to that Sangwoo was terrified for a second.

However, he overcame it and finally mustered some courage.

‘People say that if you see a person with the same exact form as you, you will die… But since he is a clone, I created so I should be fine.’

Then he calmly examined the clone he had made.

Being buttnaked fat, he was able to see his fat body, with his large belly, and even his genitals were visible.

It was the appearance you would see after you shower and look in the mirror.

The main difference from looking at a mirror and looking at a clone was that you could move around to observe.

“Hey, Can I touch you?”

“Yes. Master.”

It can respond well too.

After Sangwoo heard a response he started to touch his clone..

The tender and soft skin of the clone felt similar to that of the human body.

“Was my body always this large.”

He felt a sense of shame for a second, but it quickly disappeared and was instead replaced by curiosity.

“So I just need to order you around now?”

“Yes.”

Sangwoo thought about what he should order the clone to do, but he just decided for now to order it to sit down.

The second he thought of it, the clone went and sat down at the spot he had thought of.

‘Oh, it also works with my thoughts.’

Sangwoo was amazed.

Ordering the clone would be better done mentally than verbally he decided.

‘Lie down.’

The clone got up from a sitting position then lied down.

‘Stand up’

The clone stood up.

‘Repeat.’

The clone lied down then stood up then repeated the actions again.

But, after repeating the actions 10 times, the clone began to gasp for its breath, sweat like rain, and suffer unspeakably.

‘Oh. The clone also gets tired.’

Even so, Sangwoo kept watching since he was not the one getting tired.

He wondered about the clone’s stamina and sustainability and how his ability was linked with it.

After watching for 10 minutes, all of a sudden, a message came up.

[Health increased by 0.001.]

‘Hm? What’s this.’
